I just bought a set of Chelleng Strada Bianca and I have been stressing about trying to put them on, you made it looks real easy I hope it works as well for me as it does for you and others wow thank you so much buddy. Karl
You will succeed, and of course have fun riding them👍🏻
Hero!
These don’t look like tubulars.
You’re right, they call them “open tubulars” as it says in the title…..
@@Casmod78 Ah mb lol
Can honestly say these were the hardest tyres I’ve ever fitted , you made that look easy 👏👏👏
Aha! I guess the only difference between us is, I was using it sooner
In the states, I think we can all still get baby powder or talc to dust the inner tube with which makes it a bit more slippery as it contacts the inner side of the tire….. just a thought
Excellent video for these tyres
I couldn't install my Elite Pro, the seller from Lazada wouldn't take it back
Bare toes! Brilliant! Me and my Strada Biancas thank you.
Thanks! Very Helpful!
Thanks a lot! I must say, I spent 2.5 hours struggling unsuccessfully to get a Strada Bianca 36 on my Bontrager TLR rims. With this technique, it took me only about 10 mins for 1 tire. Great technique. I used cornstarch instead of baby powder, works as well. I guess I will take a small amount with me in case I need to change a flat on the side of the road...
Is this clincher or tubular. in my understanding tubular tires dont require tubes. Can someone help me to understand this video?
Clincher, didn’t you see me putting the tube inside….. a Tubular tyre is a tyre with a tube inside (stitched) and round like a sausage. Tubular tyres are also glued to the rim.
yo is my audio messed up? I am not hearing nothing and I just got these tires and yeah I am stuck
Just follow my steps, easy peasy. No audio needed 😁 good luck. Watch and learn💪🏻
proper how to, no like the official challenge
Challenge should pay you some royalties for this footage ! 🙂 THX a lot !
Thank you for this video! It helped me to bring the Challenge Grifo onto my rims.
Thanks man, great tutorial. At first I struggled a little, then realised I still had my socks on. Took them off and "plop" 😉
Genius! I spent an hour trying to get one tyre on without success. Watched this video and 10 mins per tyre, job done.
Does it works so easy with a tubeless one, too?
I've had a few different pairs of Challenge tires in the last couple of years-- first 700x30 Strada Biancas and then 700x25 Strada Opens. Both of those were a little tough, but not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to seem. I thought maybe I had super insane popeye forearm strength or something but was brought back to reality pretty swiftly today trying to mount some Paris-Roubaix Tubeless Ready tires. I got one side over the rim without too much trouble, but the other side has been an journey through the circles of hell, I feel like I have lived and died a thousand times today and I still don't even have the first wheel done 😅. I'm curious to try this but I have a feeling that the baby powder would not be such a good mix with tubeless sealant.. or would it?
good afternoon I love those tyres, but I have a problem; with the zipp wheels my flanks are cut I'd like to know if you had any cutting problems with those wheels Could you tell me the model or internal width I hope you can help me thank you very much
How is the puncture protection with these tires? Do you get a lot of flats?
Puncture protection, I think is actually pretty good. Maybe 2 punctures in 10.000km for me
Wish I saw this before I brought out the rubber cement.. LOL
Baby Powder, that is the secret? I will try it tomorrow and hope my Challenge Strada are ready to go :)
What PSI do you use? I've had problems with my tires unseating while riding at only 80psi. Thanks.
Usually I ride them with 70-75 psi
Perhaps the "challenge" more would be taking the tire out on a flat.
Paul John after a couple of weeks riding them, the tyres are stretched like any other. They dismount pretty easy without any levers. Till then it’s better to take some levers with you , for getting them of easy.
i guess it's all about the baby powder. i tried without, just with three tyre levers. took about 30-45 minutes per tyre and left me with blisters on both thumbs and scratches to the stickers of my brand new rims. really hope it was worth it. do you know if it gets easier once the tyre has sat on the rim for a while? currently i don't see myself getting this done out on the road when fixing a flat...
They will stretch after a while, so with tyre levers it should work fine ( when you get a flat in the first couple of weeks), after some more time it gets easier, even without. Have fun riding them!!!
Could you please post a link with the electric pump ? Thanks

Your wheelset is tubular or clincher ?
запутий залупин This Wheelset is a clincher version. With Tubular wheels you have to glue your tyres. Thx and good luck!!
Inspirational stuff. I've been eyeing up my riding buddy's Strada Biancas and they look even better with the coloured walls. He got someone to fit them for him, which seems a bit of a cheat. I'm ready to dive in now.
Bless you man, I have struggled to put my Stradas 25C for two days :D. Then i saw this, used baby powder and it is on :D
Thx, i’m glad you did the trick. Have fun riding them!!!
Great video. I was debating buying a pair because of so many people saying how hard they are. This makes it seem pretty easy. Thanks.
Well that doesn’t look too hard. Thank you for the vid.
Thank you very much for the walkthrough!!! I manage to install them on the first try! Maybe there is too much noise about the "difficulty" of this tire :) Anyway... Quick question. Did you notice any indication on rolling direction? I am failing to find one, and I really don't want to go trough its installation again. Thanks in advance!
Helber Lopez There is no rolling direction, so don’t panic. Have a fun ride with them!!!
Wow! I had been struggling to mount a Challenge Strada Bianca for more than a day and had almost given up. Following this technique had it on first go! Thanks.
Hi are you sure you sure you are mounting a tubular ?
No, it's a "Open" tubular as challenge calls them, like the title says.
Are they tubeless ready ?? Thx
No, they are not tubeless. But with latex inner tubes, they ride very smooth as well
I'm pretty sure there are no tubeless road tyres with tan walls yet. This is because tan walls are (traditionally) untreated cotton tyre side walls. Some manufacturers (WTB for ex) do coloured (tan/skin/brown) tan walls for tubeless on some of their gravel tyres, but they're not available for road yet. Schwalbe might do some TLR Pro-Ones with tan walls next year.
thx, i will check the tip with baby powder today :)
what kind of pump is that?
It’s a “Air Hawk Pro” compressor
